Open License

Essentially, PublicVR allows anyone to use its intellectual property for any purpose, public or private. Our only requirement is that any products built with our assets credit the appropriate (PublicVR) project and PublicVR itself. This applies whether the asset is used in whole or in part. We retain all ownership rights to our intellectual property.

Below is a sample End User License Agreement, in this case for the Virtual Egyptian Temple. Each project has its own unique license.

Copyright (c) 2005 PublicVR. All rights reserved.

Redistribution and use in source and binary forms, with or without modification, are permitted provided that the following conditions are met:

1. Redistributions of source code must retain the above copyright notice, this list of conditions and the following disclaimer.

2. Redistributions in binary form must reproduce the above copyright notice, this list of conditions and the following disclaimer in the documentation and/or other material provided with the distribution.

3. The end-user documentation included with the redistribution, if any, must include the following acknowledgment:

"This product employs the software, Virtual Egyptian Temple(tm)(c) PublicVR, free to the public at "www.publicvr.org".

Alternatively, this acknowledgment may appear in the software itself, wherever such third-party acknowledgments normally appear.

4. "Virtual Egyptian Temple" is a trademark of PublicVR. Accordingly, products derived from this software may not be called "Virtual Egyptian Temple", nor may "Virtual Egyptian Temple" appear in their name, without prior written permission from PublicVR.

5. All versions of Virtual Egyptian Temple are the property of PublicVR. However, Virtual Egyptian Temple is a derivative work based on a Unreal Tournament 2004 by Epic Games. As such, it is subject to the End User License Agreement distributed with the installation package for Unreal Tournament 2004.

6. Imagery generated using Virtual Egyptian Temple 2004 v1.1 may be incorporated into authored works, such as still imagery, video, multimedia presentations or performance art, subject to the following distribution requirement. Documentation which is closely associated with the work or any derivative thereof must contain the following notice:

"This artwork includes imagery generated using the Virtual Egyptian Temple, which is a product of PublicVR (http://publicvr.org)."

Alternatively, this acknowledgment may appear in the work itself, where such third-party acknowledgments normally appear.

THIS SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND ANY EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ARE DISCLAIMED.
